Old Gold, '62

For those with a big pipe, here is more flavour of our formative days:

Ahhh, come on, indulge yourself in a bit of purity.

As many will know, Nelson had been a band leader in the great days of the big bands. Harriet Hiliard had been a band singer. Harriet had been a beauty in her day; if an old picture of her shows up, it will be posted here.

Ok, your votes, please, gentlemen. Was she a dish or was she a dish?

Ozzie had started his band in about 1930. Harriet had come along in about 1932.

The show seems to have been carried almost completely by Ozzie Nelson himself including all the writing and producing. He did about everything to make his show.

What Ricky (Eric Nelson) did later we all know. Less known is one of David Nelson's later occupations. David became an aerialist in a circus. Apparently he worked as a "flier" for five years. For our generation, both boys will always be the kids we see here.
