Trevor Anderson
Trevor Anderson has turned up again. This time in conversation with a girl and a fellow at a locker across the hall.
...............
Only some of the fuzziness can be blamed on the compression process here. In the original, the grain and gamma of this frame are characteristic of Plus-X Panchromatic, a finer grain film than Tri-X. The speed of Plus-X was much slower than Tri-X and so a longer exposure was implied. That, in turn, meant slightly blurred frames from the longer exposure required in the dingy illumination prevailing in the halls of O.B.H.S.
How strange it is to realize that today this photograph could be made not only in colour but with an emulsion four times faster yet with better grain.
The contemporary colour photograph to the right is exactly that; an available light photograph with a hand held camera. The fuzz in this case is from the compression process.
Hallway, 3:25PM
Here's an everyday scene to bring back memories. Remember the cacophony of all these slamming and banging locker doors at the end of the school day? There seemed to be a collective, characteristic smell emanating from these locker banks, too.
Is that Rod Germaine in the distance, on line with the clock? Gerry says "Bill Wilcox". Oooook, now Dave Zirul says it's Bill Wilcox, too. Get your votes in on the Wilcox issue, ladies and gentlemen!

Gerry Hagberg and the webmaster are engaged in a discussion of the identities here. Further help would be appreciated. Gerry reckons the girl in the left foreground, back to camera, might be Linda Brown. The girl farther back on that side Gerry thinks might be Pat Daniel. The webmaster disagrees. The fellow on line with the clock Gerry sees as Bill Wilcox and the webmaster is inclined, now, to agree. At 030605, Cheryl Borris agrees. We both think the figure nearest the camera on the right is Rod Germaine. He is talking to a girl who Gerry thinks might be Barbara Reilly.. At 030605, Cheryl Borris makes a guess that the girl might be Robyn Bryson. An attempt has been made to find the scan of the original to allow the posting of a more detailed print. It is not in the archive. It seems the original negatives must be found again, a daunting task just at the moment for logistical reasons.

Suspended ceiling and upmarket fluorescent fixtures but pretty much the same hallway. The ceiling mounted clock is gone, perhaps a victim of the suspended ceiling.
Ahh! Here are some frames of the decorations installed for the dance. Remember these huge paper flowers? We will see more in the next frame, these three dimensional.

Ballroom, Decorations, Centre
Here's the ornamental structure that decorated the middle of the dance floor.

Homeroom, Third
Back the classroom. Here we are waiting for our homeroom teacher again. It's early on a summer morning, the school day is about to begin and we have all had enough. Isn't that Janice Laidlaw nearest the camera? At 030605, Cheryl Borris thinks so, too.

(No, the material on the stand cannot be read here. This time the reason is the very fast lens. In order that the subjects be in focus with the shallow depth of field available, the focus at distance is sacrificed.)
