This negative came to light on 030606 in a search through the digital archive on another matter. The technical quality was evil. Substantial improvement has been made but the image still requires much work. That will have to wait. It just didn't seem right, however, to keep it off the site for the remaining shortcomings. It is a too, too delicious a slice of high school life to moulder unseen.
Here Karen is the epitome of demure femininity as the fashionably clad and ever debonair Rod Germaine dispenses charm as the two stand in the hallway after school.
Now if we could just get Karen to send in a few pictures of the era...

Karen was one of the engines that powered the reunion forward. You will see her several times, for instance, in the photographs from the reception at Lynda Poyntz house receiving us alumni.
Karen and Rod 40 years later!
How can it be 40 years? Except for Rod's magnificent valence, they look just the same as they did in the corridor in 1963.
By the way, inducing these two to get out there and be photographed for this page on the site was beyond difficult for Rod is gentleman and he was escorting his wife on the occasion. Talk about herding cats! After three separate sessions of having his arm twisted by your photographer, he finally acceded. Care was taken to make the photograph under the supervision of Rod's charming wife, at whom he is looking back here. Of your photographer his lady enquired, with an exquisite sidelong glance: "I was wondering: `Um, Should I be jealous?' ". She was reassured at once.
