Quoth Todd on encountering John at the Uvic reception in 1988, camera in hand: "Same old ****, eh, John?"

"Yup, same old ****, Rick, and new ****, too!", responded John.

Here is some of that new photography, everybody, harnessed to the old chemical technology. Emulsions today are greatly improved over what was available to the general photographer 40 years ago but they are no competition for the combination of the megapixel charge coupled device and digital storage. The condition of the negatives from which these prints are made is proof, were any needed, that the advent of the new century will end the rule of silver halide technique for general use.
