Initium

In 1987, the reunion committee for the class of 1963 needed material for the event. With a view to helping the committee along by making photographic prints for them, a search was made for the corpus of negatives shot during high school days.

The search was ultimately successful. Among the negatives were many that showed high school activities in 1962 and 1963. The emulsions had not been stable. The films were old and very dirty. Contrast, scratches and, particularly, dirt spots had become a substantial issue in these negatives then a quarter of a century old. In heavier areas, emulsion had flaked off making black areas on prints. Nonetheless, three batches of prints were made from these old negatives by selecting the better frames. These were sent to Victoria in 1987 and 1988 for that get together. We '63 grads arrived to find that the reunion committee had found a use for almost all those prints. Along with photographs from that time provided by others, they had been assembled into a great display that all of us who attended enjoyed.

Hey, you're not supposed to be reading this stuff if you are bored! Skip on into the pictures.
