These great old photographs sparked a request for more, of course. Eric wrote in response in part:
...
I don't really have anything else of interest re my school days. My dad broke his camera before I was born, and since I was the last born of three they took no pictures of me. My grade 1 picture is only the third picture ever of me, and I remember being scared stiff about having my picture taken.
One year later, same thing happened because it was now the 4th picture. Grade 3 was the next one. Then my brother got a camera for Christmas 1954 so finally in Grade 4 the very first informal picture of me was taken. Of course, being the little brat brother he didn't waste much time taking pictures of me, so pictures are few and far between. I got my first camera for my 19th birthday when in 2nd year university.
...
So, we have to make do with these, everybody.

Yellowing and a bit of fading here and there are the only signs of age in these old prints of Eric's. The quality of the tonal gradations is remarkable. Mr. Gibson's lab. staff did a fine job in fixing and washing these prints.
